I met Stephanie and Tom for the first half of the engagement session towards the end of 2013. The shoot was at a 50's style diner in New Hampshire, and I blogged about it here. The weather was too cold that day to do the second half of the session, so we waited until the summer of 2014 for the second part.
In the meantime, we found a client of Stephanie’s who had a vintage turquoise Thunderbird and was totally okay with us using it for the session. Those of you who know me know that I'm a little obsessed with the color turquoise and also know that I've always wanted to own a vintage turquoise car with white wall tires—even though I don't know the first thing about fixing or maintaining a classic car! Once we got the word on the car, we found a location at a private property in Manchester, NH, set the date, and the rest was history.
It was a dream to photograph this car with the amazingly gorgeous and fun Stephanie and Tom! Stephanie chose to wear a red and black polka-dotted vintage dress, which really made the colors from this session pop. We were shooting for at least an hour or more, and we started to lose the light. I could have gone another two hours with this one, but we wrapped it up once the sun went down!
Thanks to Stephanie and Tom for being such great sports and indulging my long-lived dream of doing a retro-inspired engagement session. Many thanks to The Diorios, who graciously allowed us to "borrow" their car for the session.
